IDF forces thwarted yet another attempted terrorist infiltration into a Gush Katif community this morning. Around 6 AM, soldiers noticed three terrorists approaching the area between Netzer Hazani and Katif, on Israel's southern Mediterranean coast, and fired at them. One was killed, and two escaped back towards Khan Yunis. On the body of the dead terrorist were found several grenades and a Kalachnikov rifle.



The Jewish areas in Gaza came under attack in other incidents as well during the night. Two soldiers were lightly wounded when a bomb was detonated against their armored vehicle near Morag. One of the soldiers was taken to the Soroka Medical Center in Be'er Sheva... A mortar shell landed in Gush Katif this morning, but did not explode... Soldiers in northern Gaza were targeted by Arab gunfire during the night; no one was hurt...

Armed Arab killers also attempted to infiltrate the IDF Ofir base in the Ramallah area last night. Soldiers opened fire, scattering the enemy gunmen, and no one was hurt.



IDF forces in Shechem arrested for questioning four PA residents in connection with terrorist activities. In addition, Tanzim terrorist Sultan Sa'ad was arrested in the Askar area near Shechem. He is connected to the terror attack on a group of hikers at Mt. Eval in October 2000 in which Rabbi Binyamin Herling was murdered.
