Same fight for survival – USA and Israel
Same fight for survival – USA and Israel

For President Trump, there must be a reason why he is going after the Democrats with such fire and urgency…and more so now than ever before.

He told the four ingrates, “If you don’t like it here, you can leave.” The House-full of Democrats (plus four Republicans) passed a resolution condemning his remarks as “racist.”

That’s their story.

Maybe Trump sees the writing on the wall more clearly than the rest of us. America, as he sees it, is in a fight to save its soul, surely its sovereignty, against leftist radicals who seem determined to swamp the nation out of existence through the influx of millions who don’t belong. In different ways, it is quite the same situation in Israel, and he is up on that as well.

From his point of view, it’s getting late. So his comments, largely through tweets, have gotten bolder, like this: “So sad” to see Democrats backing “people who speak so badly of our Country and who, in addition, hate Israel with a true and unbridled passion.” Amazing that finally a US president, without asking, pictures the United States and Israel in the same boat.

Note that the anti-Semitism of theirs disturbs him particularly.

He’s referring mostly to “The Squad,” the four fresh faces of Congress – Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Ilhan Omar, Rashida Tlaib and Ayanna Pressley, who take turns denouncing America for everything and blaming Israel for anything. Even for Nancy Pelosi enough is enough. They’ve gotten on her nerves, the posturing and the pestering.

But Pelosi squares it by assuring herself and her party that for all the prattle, those four represent nothing more than four votes. She knows politics.

Trump know culture. He knows how a fad gets started, spreads, and before you know it, everybody is playing yo-yo.

So he’s worried that if those four don’t get checked, and if their views become popular, we could be facing an apocalypse.

Is that an exaggeration? Maybe so.

When we say Americans will get the chance to vote – who do we mean by Americans?
But in the United States, a general election is coming up shortly, and when we say Americans will get the chance to vote – who do we mean by Americans?

For Trump, it’s anybody who is a citizen. For the Democrats, it is anybody…anybody and everybody and New York Postcolumnist Jonathan Tobin has a handle on this nicely.

Thus, for Democrats, the millions here illegally, and the thousands more sneaking in each day, they, or some or many among them, will get to decide the next Congress and White House.

If you say it’s against the law for illegals to vote, which it is, count on it, the Democrats have ways.

This alarms Trump. Can you blame him?

Besides 2020, even today, when surveys are taken, we can’t be sure what Americans think about this or that, because the line is so blurred as to what constitutes an American.

When anyone with a canoe and a paddle gets counted as legit – plus being granted free and instant healthcare -- will America become unrecognizable?

Which takes us to Israel, where the voting comes even sooner…scheduled for September, and when a nation’s soul, and sovereignty, will truly be tested.

We cannot say if Benjamin Netanyahu is fully a man of the Right. People on the Right have their qualms about him, some legitimate, some not.

But give him this – he has survived Obama, and survive he did, without capitulating. If you chart him point by point, you will, here and there, find the flaws.

Yet internationally he has been masterful…and domestically, he is no give-away artist…and yet there is a chance that his party, or collection of parties, will lose.

That’s because the Right is in confusion and disarray. It is each man, and woman, for himself, or so it seems, while the Left has its act together – or so it seems.

For Israeli leftists, no part of the Holy Land is holy, sovereign or precious. It is all negotiable. If elected, there will be uprooting. There will be more Gush Katifs.

No, it is not alarmist to suggest that for both the United States and Israel there is but one question – survival.
