A Palestinian Authority court has ordered Fuad Shubaki released from his Jericho confinement. Shubaki is the PA official who was responsible for obtaining financing for the weapons smuggling ship, Karine A, which was captured by Israel in January. The Ramallah court found no evidence that Shubaki was involved in the Karine A affair. Shubaki found refuge in Arafat's Ramallah headquarters earlier this year, and was later transferred to Jericho under an agreement reached when Israel nearly captured the building.
