The case of the missing two-year-old from Jerusalem came to a tragic end early this afternoon when her body was found buried in a field near southern Jerusalem. Hundreds of volunteers were continuing to search this cold and rainy morning for 2-year-old Hodayah Kedem-Fimstein, who had not been seen for three days, when news of the discovery reached them. The baby's father, who had reported her missing from his home on Saturday afternoon, is under arrest as the main - though not only - suspect in the case. A prayer service for her welfare had been scheduled this afternoon, with the participation of former Sephardic Chief Rabbi Mordechai Eliyahu and Jerusalem Mayor Ehud Olmert.
Volunteers continue to search for Nur Abu Tir, 5, who has been missing since Saturday night from her home in an Arab village east of Jerusalem. Police still suspect that a family feud is at the bottom of the case, and one person who has been held for two days still refuses to respond to police questioning.
