If her name was Melania Clinton, it would be different. She would be on the cover of Vogue and all the other women’s magazines.

Anna Wintour would prepare the most glittering party for her and all The Ladies Who Lunch would be Just Dying for a ticket.

If her name was Melania Obama, she would be dancing with Ellen DeGeneres, the approving NBC TV audience applauding her every gracious move.

What an elegant First Lady, they would gush. Ellen would be saying, “Let’s hear it for the most glamorous First Lady since Jackie.”

Can’t you just hear the audience going wild!

If her name was Melania Biden/Holder/Schumer she would be exchanging wisecracks with Kimmel/ Fallon/ Colbert.

Can’t you just hear the audience applauding her sense of humor, her tact, her smile, her style!

If her name was Michelle, the ladies of “The View” would exult just to be near her.

But her name is Melania, Melania Trump and she is welcome no place in that culture, which is a waste and a shame and the most striking example of Leftist/Liberal hypocrisy.

Like the cliquish Mean Girls known throughout every high school, they exclude her from every table, until she sits alone.

Because, as we say it here in a revealing new book about another outsider, she “does not, you know, fit.”

In this Year of the Woman, they can find no heart for a woman who typifies female empowerment, which they celebrate… but only if the female is a Democrat.

But a Republican, aha, look, they say, she must be a White Supremacist.

Onward they scold, snub, and smear her because she is not a member of their club. This is a club for ladies who dine on whispers, backbiting, innuendo, gossip and slander.

Cattily they talk about her hat, her shoes, her accent, and mention nothing about her globetrotting, most recently in Africa.

That’s where she says attention must be paid to the world’s less fortunate. But gets zero credit.

“I could say I’m the most bullied person in the world,” she told ABC-TV several days ago in an hour-long interview.

She corrected that to mean “one of the most bullied people in the world,” but either way, it was a silent scream against the hostility she seems destined to endure as her fate.

She never asked for this. She never asked for a job that would require her to carry a nation’s political weight.

The interview was supposed to be exclusively about her. This would be her chance to shine, to showcase her warmth, her charm and the other virtues that make her a deserving First Lady.

It began that way. But soon we saw it for what it really was, a trap; another opportunity for the media to pounce on her husband. Gradually, and so as you’d hardly notice, the mood shifted to the dark side, clip after clip edited to feature him at his most vulnerable moments – and nothing about his grand achievements.

Do they share pillow talk?

Yes, she said. “I give him my honest advice and honest opinions, and then he does what he wants to do.”

Despite them all, she will also do what she wants to do, cool, classy and dignified. She would never say it like this, so let us say it for her—

To hell with them.
