Hassan Rouajbe, a member of Yasser Arafat’s Fatah Tanzim terrorist gang, was arrested yesterday by IDF soldiers in an operation near Shechem. Rouajbe is suspected of involvement in the lynching murder of Rabbi Hillel Lieberman, two years ago. Arab attackers killed Rabbi Lieberman two years ago, at the start of the Oslo War, as he was making his way to Joseph's Tomb in Shechem upon hearing that the venerated site was under PLO assault.

In addition to the arrest of the Fatah man, IDF troops have arrested 27 Arabs suspected of involvement in terrorism. Sixteen of those arrested were captured in the Bethlehem area alone. Four of the suspects were apprehended in the Shechem region, and four south of Jenin. A Hamas terrorist was arrested in Bet Iksa, just outside the Jerusalem community of Ramot, and two Islamic Jihad terrorists were arrested in Hebron.
