215 million Christians are persecuted today because of their own faith, according to a report released by the Open Doors organization. 1 out of 12 Christians worldwide. The number one cause of Christian persecution is the spread of radical Islam. Among the top 10 countries with the highest rate of Christian persecution, 8 are Muslim: Afghanistan, Somalia, Sudan, Pakistan, Libya, Iraq, Yemen and Iran. 3,066 Christians were killed last year because of their faith, while 15,540 Christian buildings were attacked, among them churches, houses and shops. The West, intimidated by the non-existent crime of "Islamophobia", is prevented from talking about this terrifying Islamic Christianophobia.
In Syria and Iraq, there are dozens, if not hundreds, of places of Christian worship that Islamic fundamentalists have destroyed in the past two years. Those images shocked and moved public opinion, along with decapitations during mass, the bonfires of "infidels" and the rape of the girls from the Kurdish Yazidi minority. From churches to cemeteries and archaeological sites, in many places, every building carrying the symbols of the Christian faith was razed to the ground.
But a no less serious vandalism, apparently "peaceful" and painless, is taking place in the heart of my poor Europe and in the capitals of its Christianity, from Paris in London.
The German cathedral of Lambertus was just razed to the ground to make room for a mine, despite the protests of the population. Since the XII century there has been a church on that plot of land and the current structure was built a century ago. The same scenes are seen in France, in England, in Belgium. Across the continent, cities are facing the problem of what to do with the growing number of empty churches.
Europeans are losing themselves in a sort of existentialism in which culture has no more value. They are ready for the great remplacement by Islam. But to do that, they must create a vacuum in which the new culture will take pover.
Europe is collapsing under its own weight. There are many methods to kill something. One of these, perhaps the best, is to make the sick person believe that he has been saved, when the medicine was actually poison.
Are we witnessing the death of Western civilization, as Vegezio saw it during the decline of the Roman Empire? And what shape will it take, what will this fall be like? Violence or dilution? Everywhere in Europe the great churches of Christianity, Catholic and Protestant, are being transformed into luxury apartments to satisfy the appetites of businessmen, often foreigners, looking for something "special".
“Sic transit glory”. This Latin expression perfectly captures Europe's mood: glory fades.
