Police were deployed in full strength in the coastal plain areas and in Jerusalem today, in light of intelligence warnings of terrorist attacks. The alerts were lowered late this afternoon. A PA Preventive Security officer was arrested by Israeli forces today, together with one of his senior aides.



Last night's Oslo War attacks included two mortar shells fired at a Gush Katif community, shots at an IDF position in Gush Katif, and rocks at a public bus making its way to the Western Wall in Jerusalem. Windows on the bus were shattered, but there were no injuries in these incidents.

IDF forces destroyed the home of Bader Muhammad Hassan in southern Gaza City last night. He was involved in many shooting attacks, bombings, and training of Hamas terrorists. Five terrorists were arrested in Gaza during the night and transferred to the GSS for questioning. Four others, including three wanted for questioning, were arrested in Judea and Samaria.



Fatah-Hamas clashes in Gaza last night led to the deaths of two Arabs: a PA officer and his son. Exchanges of fire continued for over an hour after they erupted over a disagreement regarding the writing of graffiti on local walls. Hamas members also threw grenades at their Fatah counterparts. Efforts are underway to head off the feared re-escalation of hostilities.
