What would have happened had Harvey Weinstein, accused of multiple rapes and sexual harassment, denounced it as an “anti-Semitic plot”, if the Academy had then left him in place and if his colleagues rushed to Weinstein's defense, saying that he was “a prominent producer”?

This is what happened to Tariq Ramadan, the renowned Swiss Islamist accused by women of rape and sexual harassment. Now new accusations come from Switzerland, where four women say they were abused by Ramadan while studying under him. The Tribune de Geneve reports that one of these women says she had relations with Ramadan when she was fifteen in the back of a car.

And what did Oxford academics do where Ramadan teaches? Obviously, they tried to protect his chair.

An English militant for women's rights, Aicha Ali-Khan, had gathered signatures to fire Ramadan from the prestigious university, asking Oxford to immediately suspend Professor Ramadan until these and previous accusations made in other countries are fully clarified.

Ramadan's chair at Oxford was funded by Qatar, which in 2015 alone donated 11 million pounds to refurbish the Oxford college where Ramadan teaches.
After the first rape allegation two weeks ago, students reported that Ramadan had held a seminar in Oxford and was seen “laughing” with faculty members. In response to student requests and signatures, senior faculty members organized a meeting. The official response came from the director of the Center for Middle East Eugene Rogan, who said: “It’s not just about sexual violence. For some students it’s just another way for Europeans to gang up against a prominent Muslim intellectual. We must protect Muslim students who believe and trust in him, and protect that trust”.

Yes, you have read this correctly.

Ramadan's chair at Oxford was funded by Qatar, which in 2015 alone donated 11 million pounds to refurbish the Oxford college where Ramadan teaches.

British Defense Minister Michael Fallon resigned in the wake of allegations of sexual harassment when, at a dinner, he insistently extended his hand on the knees to a well-known journalist, Julia Hartley-Brewer. Several allegations of rape were not enough to fire Tariq Ramadan. Because, after all, he is “ a prominent Muslim”.

On October 15, The Independent, after the first revelations on Harvey Weinstein, published an article by Qasim Rashed titled “How the teachings of Islam could help us prevent more sexual abuse”. Of course, by condoning them when done by Muslims.

Then finally Oxford University took the right decision: “Leave” is a euphemism. Tariq Ramadan's crescent is thus obscuring, in that prestigious university, the fact that since 2009 it had given him his most important position. A story that should sink one of Europe's major multicultural symbols.

Ramadan, in fact, has long been the lecturer loved by the French Left, Tony Blair's consultant, the preacher of Europe's youth, the master in the art of seducing the bourgeois (the Western establishment), the Islamic moralist of the veil, the Muslim who refused to be Charlie, the Islamist who, a year ago, from the columns of Italy's main daily Il Corriere della Sera preached “reason in the service of Allah”. Meanwhile, it seems that Ramadan was employing concubines in his own service.

Kevin Spacey did the wrong thing by declaring himself gay during the wave of allegations against him for harassment. To save himself, Spacey should have made a declaration of faith in Allah.  It's called the Shahada.
