NYT isn’t really Der Sturmer, but…
NYT isn’t really Der Sturmer, but…

Charles Blow writes a regular column for The New York Times. Julius Streicher wrote a regular column for Der Sturmer.

Therefore, Charles Blow is Julius Streicher.

Are you following this logic? Neither am I. But it is the rationale that Charles Blow uses to argue that Trump is Hitler. I am not kidding…and Blow is his real name…and truly he does write op-eds for The New York Times…and The New York Times is indeed Der Sturmer, a proposition we’ll get to in a moment.

We’ll get to it once we follow Blow’s stream of thought, and how he manages to mention Trump and Hitler in the same breath.

Think of a man who comes from out of nowhere, provides no verifiable pedigree... offers to unite the nation through racist demagoguery...mesmerizes millions with his gift of tongue. Finally he does get elected. That too wasn’t Trump. That was Obama.
Blow’s most recent column comes with this headline – “Trump isn’t really Hitler, but the lying…”

So that is Blow’s connection. Hitler lied. Trump lies. So they are the same. How does Trump lie? For that, Blow offers two main sources, CNN and MSNBC – in other words, Frick and Frack, two networks absolutely fanatical in their hatred of Trump and among the principal purveyors of Trump Derangement Syndrome.

Neither they nor Blow offer any substantial evidence of lying unless you’re thinking of this whopper regarding proposed healthcare legislation:

“If you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor.”

Oh wait. That wasn’t Trump. That was Obama. Something that Mr. Blow seems to conveniently forget.

Also if you’re looking for comparisons, think of a man who comes from out of nowhere, provides no verifiable pedigree – we don’t really know who he is – offers to unite the nation through racist demagoguery, but dazzles and mesmerizes millions with his gift of tongue. Finally he does get elected.

That too wasn’t Trump. That was Obama.

In a perfect world Mr. Blow would be approached by men in white jackets and taken off to the nut house for his own good and for the safety of others. There, in the sanitarium, he could regale his pals and therapists with the (hallucinatory) notion that Trump and Hitler have so much else in common – two arms and two legs, for instance.

Instead, Mr. Blow found refuge at The New York Times where such lunacies are welcome.

People who swear they’re Napoleon flock to the place as writers and readers, as they did when Julius Streicher ran Germany’s Der Sturmer back in the 1930s using the most vile words and images to provoke anti-Semitism and the Holocaust. I’m not saying that The New York Times is quite the same, but…

Mainly five points. 1. The New York Times is openly hostile to Israel and uses propaganda masked as news to threaten Jews everywhere.

Shades of Der Sturmer.

2. The New York Times is an advocate for only one party, the Democrat party, which mirrors Der Sturmer and its singular devotion to the Nazi party.

3. The paper makes no pretense of being objective. The Times is in business to tell only one side of the story.

4. Reporters must always be Liberals in thought and action… Obama-fearing men and women, plus Clinton cover-up artists.

5. Editorialists must always slant their opinions to be furiously provocative against Israel, against the United States, against Republicans and against Donald Trump, no matter how reckless and ridiculous it makes them sound.

Which does not necessarily mean that Charles Blow is all that, but…
