Some 150,000 Jews arrived in the Galilee town of Meiron overnight to celebrate the festive day of Lag Ba\'omer. Bonfires and the smell of barbecued meat filled the air as those in attendance rejoiced until the wee hours of the morning. Traffic is still reported as heavy to and from the central site, adjacent to the grave of the Tannaitic sage Rabbi Shimon Bar Yochai.
