Prime Minister Sharon\'s office was thrown into disarray today with the resignation of Director-General Rafi Peled. Speaking at a specially-called press conference this morning, Peled cited \"differences of opinion with the Prime Minister regarding appointments\" as the reason for his move. Insiders, however, suggest that Peled\'s poor relations with Sharon\'s son Omri and with Bureau Director Uri Shani contributed to the resignation. Prime Minister Sharon expressed \"regret\" over the resignation.
Brig.-Gen. (res.) Herzl Gedz - who formerly headed the autonomy liaison administration - is rumored to be a serious candidate to for Peled\'s job.
