An Arab laborer was killed this afternoon by a Palestinian-launched mortar shell that landed in the northern Gaza industrial zone. The shell, one of four fired this afternoon towards Jewish targets in northern Gaza, also wounded nine other Arabs. An Arab boy was similarly killed several days ago by shrapnel resulting from a Palestinian attack.
At least four other Arabs were killed since last night, one of whom was wearing an IDF uniform while engaged in attacking Israeli targets. He was killed last night near Netzarim, in Gaza, and on his body was found a Kalachnikov rifle and three grenades. One IDF soldier was lightly wounded in the incident. In addition, a terrorist was killed in a battle with IDF troops near Tul Karem today, another in Jenin [see below], and an Arab youth was shot while climbing onto an IDF armored vehicle.
Other Palestinian attacks today included: Two mortar shells towards Gaza; a shooting at soldiers near Netzarim in Gaza; another shooting attack at surveyors working on the Trans-Israel Highway in northwestern Shomron; rocks at a bus southwest of Yitzhar in the Shomron; and heavy damage to a car northeast of Beit Shemesh in a stoning attack. There were no injuries in these incidents.
IDF forces entered the Jenin area last night and arrested several wanted terrorists. One Arab was killed and six were wounded in exchanges of fire. All villages in the area are under curfew, as is the city of Ramallah, in light of intelligence warnings of impending terrorist attacks from those areas. Various regions in Israel are on high alert in light of terrorist warnings, and heavy traffic jams have resulted.
Oslo War incidents of last night included a mortar shell against a Jewish town in northern Gaza, gunfire at the northern Shomron community of Sa-Nur, an Israeli vehicle hit by terrorist fire just a bit south of Sa-Nur, and two firebomb attacks against security forces near Bethlehem. No one was hurt in these incidents. In a special operation early yesterday morning, IDF forces entered PA-controlled cities Jabalya and Beit Lahiya in Gaza and destroyed three terrorist homes. The troops came under fire, returned fire, and suffered no injuries.
