NY Times slams Hannity – now that’s chutzpah

First a reminder that back in 2014, after thousands of Hamas rockets were deluging the Jewish State from Gaza, and the IDF finally responded to stop the terror, and nearly the entire world put the blame on Israel for civilian casualties -- only one reporter took himself and his crew to the scene of the conflict to send back the true picture.

The terror tunnels, the constant barrage of rockets whistling in from Gaza mosques, schools and hospitals, and with no one to appreciate the Jewish point of view, this man, a Christian in the true sense of the word, stood up to resolutely speak in Israel’s favor.

That was Sean Hannity, who comes on every night at 10 p.m. from Fox News, and frankly, never pretends to be a reporter.

He is a commentator. It is not his job to provide both sides of the story. That’s for the News Department. His department is Opinion.

So in his opinion, Trump is the man. Hannity makes no secret of this. He is not shy or sly or slippery about his full support of Trump.

Well, that is too much for The New York Times, which this morning runs a front-page story mocking both Hannity and Trump. The paper’s headline runs like this: “Hannity turns informal adviser in service of Trump.” Yeah – so? Hannity never pretends otherwise.

Hannity does not pretend to be “the paper of record.” Nor does he pretend to offer “ALL the news that’s fit to print.” Impartial, in other words.

That is supposed to be The New York Times.

For which we turn to The New York Post and columnist Michael Goodwin, who writes that we are witnessing “the complete collapse of American journalism” and blames the Times more than all the rest for its lack of journalistic fairness and its “frenzy to bury Trump.”

Moreover, says Goodwin, “The Times is now out of the closet as a Clinton shill” and makes no pretense about playing it straight.

True, and readers of this column know that with Arutz Sheva I’ve been on the same beat for years, and lucky it is to be in such good company with Goodwin.

The New York Post, the best paper in America bar none.

Otherwise, no morning goes by without yet another New York Times tirade against Trump. If it ain’t Israel they’re bashing, it’s Trump. It’s the same fetish.

When it comes to being shy or sly or slippery, yes, we begin with the Times, because they all begin with the Times. That’s their cue.

That goes for all the major non-Fox networks, NBC,ABC,CBS, NPR, CNN and overseas the BBC.

All are in the tank for Hillary, journalistic standards be damned. Yet they have the chutzpah to single out Fox and Hannity for taking sides! NBC could hardly wait to finish up the Olympics so it could go back to full-time Trump patrol. More of the same from the other square-jawed and empty-headed anchors.

How irksome for them when here is one voice, Hannity, that refuses to make it unanimous for Hillary.

Good for Hannity – but pity for the rest of us who have practically nowhere else to turn for honest journalism.
