The Jerusalem Police resources are stretched to the limit. Security forces are deployed in the city in accordance with warnings of a large attack, in addition to guarding Chanukah events, workers' protests, and a special Moslem Ramadan event this evening. In light of the steady flow of intelligence warnings of possible terrorism, the police announced last night the closing of the city's Teddy Stadium and the consequent cancellation of today's scheduled game between Beitar Jerusalem and Ashdod. This afternoon, however, after Military Industries personnel canceled their planned protest, the police decided to allow the soccer game to proceed as scheduled, and will send forces to safeguard it.
Extra checkpoints have been erected throughout the city, and police are also spot-checking cars in various locations. The road to Jerusalem from Ramallah has been closed to traffic, and special warnings are in effect regarding the game at Teddy Stadium. Security warnings are also in effect in the north and along the Green Line in some areas.
