The Jerusalem Police resources are stretched to the limit. Because of the many Chanukah holiday events scheduled in the capital today together with a steady flow of intelligence warnings of possible terrorism, the police originally closed the city's Teddy Stadium to today's scheduled soccer game between Beitar Jerusalem and Ashdod. Later in the morning after another major event was cancelled, the police gave their consent to open the stadium.

Security forces are deployed in the city in accordance with warnings of a large attack, in addition to guarding Chanukah events, workers' protests, and a special Moslem Ramadan event this evening. Extra checkpoints have been erected throughout the city, and police are also spot-checking cars in various locations. Special warnings were received regarding the Teddy Stadium; police say the game could have been held last night, as previously scheduled, but not today.
