The final and official results of the Likud primaries were released this morning, showing a landslide victory for incumbent Likud chairman Prime Minister Ariel Sharon, with 55.88%. Foreign Minister Binyamin Netanyahu garnered 40.08% of the vote, and dark-horse Manhigut Yehudit candidate Moshe Feiglin picked up 3.46%.

On a day when terrorists struck Israelis at home and abroad, including an attack on a Likud polling station in Beit Shean, voter turnout was 46 percent. At each of his public appearances prior to the close of balloting, the Prime Minister repeatedly called upon voters to prevent the terrorists from gaining a victory by getting out and voting.
