(Updated Thursday 9:15AM) Likud voting stations will open at 10AM today and barring a near-miraculous comeback, Prime Minister Ariel Sharon will be the projected victor over Foreign Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, when the polls close 12 hours later. This morning's surveys show that Sharon continues to maintain a 20-plus percentage point lead over his rival. Despite the projected outcome, Netanyahu spent his last day on the campaign trail encouraging party members in northern Israel to "vote Bibi". Sharon spent his Wednesday, carrying out official State business, confident that he will defend his incumbency. Over 300,000 Likud Party members are eligible to vote in today's primaries. Analysts are confident that the winner in today's elections will become the country's next Prime Minister.
