In Meiron in the Galilee, preparations are being finalized for the many tens of thousands of people expected to arrive for the Lag Ba\'Omer celebrations there. The gravesite of Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai, a first-century Talmudic sage and author of the Zohar, will be the site of prayers, festive song, and the traditional \"first haircut\" for 3-year-old budding Torah scholars. Only public transportation will be allowed on nearby roads, except for cars of local residents.
