In local elections yesterday, Binyamin Regional Council head Pinchas Wallerstein won an overwhelming victory for yet another term in office. The Binyamin region includes Yesha towns such as Ofrah, Shilo, Mitzpeh Yericho, Psagot and others. Wallerstein, who has served in his position since 1979, defeated his main challenger Moti Zelikovitz by a 46%-23% margin, while the other votes were divided among four other candidates, including Shimon Ricklin. In the Shomron, Bentzy Lieberman won a second term in office, defeating his opponent Meir Kihan.
