Meridor Comes Back to the Likud

Center Party Minister Dan Meridor told Prime Minister Ariel Sharon this morning that he has decided to re-join the Likud Party. Analysts belive that Meridor will resign from the Knesset, and then try to become Jerusalem's next mayor should Ehud Olmert leave City Hall for a ministerial position in the next government.

Center Party Minister Dan Meridor told Prime Minister Ariel Sharon this morning that he has decided to re-join the Likud Party. Analysts belive that Meridor will resign from the Knesset, and then try to become Jerusalem's next mayor should Ehud Olmert leave City Hall for a ministerial position in the next government. In addition, Israel Radio reports that Meridor has decided to publicly endorse the Prime Minister in his Likud primaries battle with Foreign Minister Binyamin Netanyahu.
