(Updated Monday 10AM) The IDF revealed this morning that two Hamas members apprehended at the Tapuach junction in the Shomron last week, were on their way to perpetrate a suicide attack. The would-bombers were driving a stolen Israeli car when they were pulled over by IDF reservists. While inspecting the contents of the vehicle the soldiers discovered a large quantity of explosives hidden inside of two computers. Sappers destroyed the bomb-laced machines in a controlled explosion.
In other successful suicide-bomber thwarting news, army officials say that eight would-be bombers who were plotting murderous schemes from their Bethlehem area homes have been taken into custody. A total of 36 wanted Arabs have been arrested in PLO-controlled areas south of the capital, since the army launched anti-terror maneuvers in the area last Thursday in response to the deadly Jerusalem bus-bombing.
On the Gaza front last night Arabs launched a mortar shell at a southern Gush Katif community. No injuries were reported. In addition, soldiers in northern Gaza were targeted by Arab gunmen. There were no injuries.
