Terrible scenes are taking place in Senegal – and The New York Times, CNN, BBC and much of the world's media haven't reported upon it.800,000 Muslims have fled their homes – and there’s widespread bloodshed and looting with an entire nation’s Muslims apparently in danger. According to an Associated Press report “One Muslim who fell off a truck was quickly killed by the mob. Muslim women who could not get on the trucks tried to hand their children to strangers aboard the vehicles. Whole neighborhoods are abandoned and Muslims who cannot leave are hiding inside mosques that have not already been set ablaze or destroyed by angry crowds.”
These terrible scenes are taking place in Senegal – and The New York Times, CNN, BBC and much of the world's media haven't reported upon it.
Until I read a random news report this weekend, I wasn’t aware of it either, despite reading countless media outlets regularly. How can it be that Muslim life is so cheap? And in January 2014, there was a United Nations report that rampaging mobs in western Myanmar killed at least four dozen people, mostly Muslims, in racial bias. When Muslims or Buddhists kill Muslims, is it not newsworthy? Whether in Myanmar or Senegal, Syria, Egypt or anywhere else in the world, when Muslims are killed it just is not of that much interest.
No State Department condemnations, and no endless “peace missions.” No flotillas from self-proclaimed humanitarians. No John Kerry encouragement for foreign boycotts, and no long-haired leftists in bandanas sending out press releases or creating havoc. When it comes to Israel these “brave souls” employ a double standard and demand “justice.” It is absurd.
In Senegal, liberal reporters can’t get the same cultural experiences as they can in Israel. They surely can’t cover from the “war zone”, and return come evening to a great city to enjoy sushi or all of the other luxuries of the great life in Israel. Naturally, despite the hype and bias, reporters don’t find themselves in danger as they do in Senegal, or other nations where Muslims are killed.
Senegal has 13 million people – and this month two men were sentenced to prison for the crime of engaging in same-sex relations. Despite all these issues, there is deafening silence.
Imagine if any of these issues were taking place in Israel, every single news station worldwide would have wall-to-wall media coverage on Israel. Sickening. The undue media attention on Israel is simply anti-Semitic in origin. There is an insane obsession about pressing Israel to compromise – Leave Israel alone and let them live.
Jews have always been the subject of bias and a double standard, and today it’s the Jewish state that is the easy target for those who want to target Jews. In the movie Defiance, about Jewish partisans during the Holocaust, there’s a scene where a Jew begs of G-d “Please, choose another people! We’ve run out of blood, so please choose another people.” Indeed, the world would do just fine to finally leave the Jews alone.
Muslim blood and death, certainly not Muslim rights, apparently don’t matter in Senegal, in Myanmar or anywhere else. John Kerry – why don’t you solve those issues and not visit Israel again while these many more pressing issues concern hundreds of thousands of Muslims?
Pretend it is 8 Muslim terrorists' homes being destroyed in Israel – You’d focus on nothing else.
Just leave the Jews alone.
