Ma'ariv newspaper has been ordered to pay 280,000 shekels to Keren and Assaf Dror, whose wedding in May 2001 at Versailles Hall turned into a calamity when the floor collapsed, killing over 20 people. The paper published a photograph of the couple with the consent of the photographer, but did not bother to ask the couple - the true owners of the rights to the photo. The Magistrates Court in Rishon LeTzion ruled that the paper had invaded the couple's privacy without sufficient public interest.
