Prime Minister Sharon, opening today's Cabinet meeting, had some warm words for his opponent in the upcoming Likud elections, Binyamin Netanyahu. After thanking Defense Minister Mofaz for his anti-terrorist efforts, the Prime Minister said, "I want to transmit my blessings to the Foreign Minister [Netanyahu] on his extensive and important work of making Israel's case to the world. I think this has very great importance."

"We have posters on buses and city streets saying that a Palestinian state will be a calamity for Israel," Breiman said. "We're also trying to act on behalf of those Knesset candidates in the right-wing parties who will vote against a Palestinian state."
Breiman said that for the past nine years, "people have been brainwashed into thinking that a Palestinian state equals peace, whereas in fact it is a recipe for permanent war, since it will continuously try to expand its borders, as Arafat has long said. This is their goal, and it doesn't matter whether it's murderer A who heads the state or murderer B… Such a state also negates the idea of Zionism; our grandfathers came here because of our claim to the Land of Israel, not just to the Coastal Plain…"
