The National Religious Party will conduct its internal primaries today, in which it will choose its Knesset Members for the 16th Knesset. Party leader Infratructures Minister Effie Eitam is assured of the first spot on the list, and about 20 others are vying for the remaining 3-4 "safe" seats. Former party leader Rabbi Yitzchak Levy, currently Minister of Tourism, and MK Zevulun Orlev appear to be assured of seats. Former Chief Rabbi Mordechai Eliyahu has come out in favor of MK Yigal Bibi and former MK Nissan Slomiansky. Several women are competing for the fifth slot on the list, which has been reserved for a woman.
