An IDF tracker was shot in the neck and killed this morning while heading a force opening a route near Tel Katifa on the southern Mediterranean coast. The killers apparently hid out in the hothouses of Tel Katifa until the patrol arrived. Heavy fire was exchanged afterwards, though the terrorists escaped into the nearby village of Dir el-Balah. IDF forces entered the town and conducted searches for them.

Earlier this morning, Israeli forces detected, shot and killed a terrorist on his way to attempting an attack in Netzarim. His body was later found in a PA uniform, aside a Sa'ar rifle and several grenades and magazines.

Israeli forces razed the homes of two terrorists in Gaza last night, one of whom was responsible for terrorist attacks in 1992 and 1993 - including the abduction and murder of two soldiers only a few weeks after the signing of the Oslo Agreement. The second terrorist was a walking bomb, the detonation of which wounded four Israelis in 2001.
