The Council of Communities in Judea, Samaria and Gaza (Yesha) demands that the government begin "even as soon as today" a broad-based campaign to destroy the terrorist infrastructures throughout Yesha. It also demands an end to the "Judea First" plan, the collection of the remaining weapons given to the PA, and to resolve never to delegate security authorities to foreign elements.
Infrastructures Minister Effie Eitam (National Religious Party): "A wide strip of land between Jerusalem and Bethlehem must be annexed and turned into Jerusalem municipal area. The Palestinians must be made to know that for every Israeli victim, they will lose territory."
Arutz-7's Haggai Segal asked Jerusalem Mayor Ehud Olmert today, "Don't you think that the time has come to expel Arafat?"
Olmert: "I don't know if that's the solution --"
A-7: "Even if it's not the solution, but isn't it an important and moral goal in and of itself, to get rid of this arch-terrorist?"
Olmert: "This is true... but it's a question of costs and benefits. My opinion is that we should dismantle the Palestinian Authority. But the idea of exiling Arafat to some comfortable place where he can happily travel around the world from capital to capital, accompanied by TV crews that allow him to complain on TV screens around the world about Israel's 'terrible crimes' - I'm not so sure."
Public Security Minister Uzi Landau visited the scene of the tragedy and said, "This is a war, and we sometimes have failures, as we did this morning. The message is simple: We have to fight terrorism even more strongly. We cannot, under any circumstances, make any concessions such as Judea First, or get into any negotiations with them. We see here that every concession we make, such as withdrawing from Bethlehem, is taken advantage of right away to commit more terrorism."
MK Tzvi Hendel (National Union) calls upon the government to totally destroy the Palestinian Authority and to renew its total control over all of Judea, Samaria and Gaza.
