IDF troops operating in the PLO-controlled town of Kalkilya yesterday, arrested Hamas terrorist Sheikh Samah. Samah was the mind behind the suicide attack at Tel Aviv's Dolphinarium discotheque in June of 2001 that killed 21 Israelis, mostly teenagers. He also planned the suicide bombing outside Bar-Ilan University last month in which one Israeli woman was murdered.
In other IDF operations, troops entered several PLO-controlled villages in southern Gaza early this morning in search of wanted Arabs. Demolitions crews destroyed a house belonging to a suspected terrorist. Exchanges of gunfire between soldiers and PLO gunmen were reported. Last night the IDF destroyed the Balata home of Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) terrorist Osama Adel Ahmed. Ahmed was behind a suicide bombing in Netanya last May that left three Israelis dead.
