Arutz-7's Kobi Finkler reports that the scene at the Weinberg home in Jerusalem is very crowded. The family is sitting shiva - the ritual weeklong mourning period - for Col. Dror Weinberg, one of the casualties of the bitter battle with terrorists in Hevron and the most senior army officer to have fallen in the Oslo War. He is survived by his wife Hadassah, five children, and his parents. "Many, many people have been coming to pay their condolences over these past days," Finkler reported today, "and there is barely room to get in. People are asked not to stay for long, and to write condolence notes if they want. Attorney-General Rubenstein and GSS head Avi Dichter have been here, and Prime Minister Sharon and Defense Minister Mofaz are expected today."

Col. Omri Bar-Lev, one of the "comforters" today, said that Weinberg had "an amazingly strong will and motivation. He wanted to attend courses, to be a commander, to lead. He wasn't big and strong, and did not have an easy time physically, but his spirit overcame this." The Weinberg family moved to Kiryat Moshe in Jerusalem only a few days before he was killed.
