Now that the Labor Party has selected its leader, the political community will turn its attention to the Likud party race between Prime Minister Ariel Sharon, Foreign Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, and Moshe Feiglin. This morning it was the Netanyahu camp that came out swinging. In an interview with Israeli Radio, Netanyahu slammed Sharon for his repeated comments in support of a Palestinian state. Netanyahu said that should he lose in the primaries, he would refuse to join a Sharon-led government unless the Prime Minister abandons his support for an official Palestinian entity. The foreign minister added that he felt that there is no significant difference between Sharon and Labor Party head Amram Mitzna in terms of their policies towards the PLO.
