Welcome to our video learning sessions for the Book of Joshua.

This week, because of the hiatus for the various special days of the month of Iyar and the holiday of Shavuot, we are presenting two chapters, 18 and 19.

The Book of Joshua describes the conquest and settling of the Land of Israel by Joshua, who took over the leadership of the Israelites upon Moses' death.

Moses was punished by G-d and did not enter the Holy Land.

Joshua was his loyal pupil and having led the battle against Amalek, knew about warfare.

In addition, having been one of the two spies, out of 12, who brought back good tidings after spying out the Holy Land, he was also a fearless man of truth .

Chapter 18 deals with the trible of Benjamin.

Benjamin is the tribe that unites the people at this point in Jewish history

The second chapter for this week's video lecture is Chapter 19, dealing with the tribe of Dan.

Its title: Dan - A Snake or a Lion?
