Israeli media had a field day condemning Lt. Col. Shalom Eisner for striking a Danish pro-Palestinian and anti-Semitic anarchist that saw it fit to protest against Israel in the vilest of terms.
And forget the fact that Col. Eisner claims he was struck first. Even if he wasn't, what exactly caused the euphoria among leftist journalists?
They found an excuse to condemn an icon of the "occupation". It reflects a pathology worth examining.
A liberal will claim that human-rights are what motivate an activist to raise his or her voice, to protest against a perceived evil.
So what was the 'evil' in this particular case? Well, according to Liberal philosophy, that news media such as Haaretz claim is their basic school of thought, it was the fact that a strong and armed soldier struck an unarmed protestor.
And just because in places such as Syria, protestors are shot on the spot, it gives "us" (Israel, Jews) no license to behave in such a barbaric manner. Or so they argue.
How many of us remember Amona? Or the expulsion of the Jewish communities from Gush Katiff and northern Shomron?
How many of these liberals protested against soldiers, policemen and special Yassam combat forces that used batons and clubs to mercilessly beat unarmed Jewish protestors? That's right, not even one.
Liberalism is universally a hypocritical front where acts of violence are frowned upon only if they are targeted against fellow liberal protestors.
Pro-Israel activists do not fall under their 'protection', quite the opposite.
But getting back to our Danish protestor who came to defend the perceived rights of the pseudo-Palestinian people; did he protest against Syrian assassinations of their unarmed protestors?
Did he picket against the Egyptian Islamists who have been killing Christians ever since they got rid of Mubarak?
Did he ever protest against the same Palestinians who launch rockets against Israeli towns targeting schools and homes? Doubtful.
All I can say is that Col. Eisner did an excellent job of containing himself. What is more, I am embarrassed that nationalist Jews did not show up in force to send these pro-terrorist supporters back to their countries in stretchers.
I am ashamed that Bibi Netanyahu, who understands the perils of Jewish existence, continues to employ Ehud Barak as his Minister of Defense.
I am ashamed of the thousands of weak-minded Jews that buy and support leftist media outlets such as Haaretz.
I am also ashamed of the thousands of Jews who call themselves liberals while the hypocrisy of its philosophy is not only evident but borderline evil.
But then again, it is the strong Israel-loving Jews that guarantee there will be a next generation. Liberals are making a lot of noise, but it is nothing more than the shouts of one who has fallen over the abyss.
