The sad part is that we cooperate with the carnival of follies of the Defense Ministry officials, shake hands, smile, while they allow the next murder to be planned.

I know,it’s aggravating to hear, but the IDF elite, and the Defense establishment in general, do not seem particularly perturbed.  Not because there are no threats to Israel, not because they managed to attack terrorist infrastructure – it’s because of the murder of Ben Yosef Livnat, who was sold, as was the Biblical Joseph,  to the accursed Ishmaelites.

You may want to rub your eyes when you read this… but I can believe that no tears were shed  the various offices of the Defense Ministry when they found out about the slaughter at Joseph’s Tomb.

Naturally, after the news was broadcast, they sat down to figure out what response would be appropriate; of course, no condemnation of the PA, after all, relations with them are so good, so why destroy them? There are meetings with them all the time, it’s fun to rub shoulders with the capitalists in the PA - just ask “defense officials” who’ve been there, done that.

It has to be explained to everyone that this isn’t “just” an attack, it’s a “security incident”, it’s almost legitimate to fire at Jewish “infiltrators” entering Joseph’s Tomb without coordinating…

To residents of the area, indeed, to anyone of the general public entering Joseph’s Tomb, they say – “We told you so”, “Don’t blame us” and other such pearls of wisdom.

The sad part is that we cooperate with the the Defense officials’ carnival of follies, shake hands, smile, as the PA plans the next murder while taking part  in “coordination meetings” that IDF staff hold with Arab security personnel. The subject of unauthorized entry to Joseph’s Tomb must come up, and I can just imagine one of these conversations when the Arabs criticize the fact that they have to cope with their own hostile populace, that residents of Shechem put pressure on them to attack those coming in, that it’s hard for them, and more in the same vein. The answer would be – “What do you want from us – if someting happens,  they’ll get the message.”

The army can go back to its routine and stop chasing after worshippers entering Joseph’s Tomb, and they can continue to have a drink with PA senior officials, they can keep on shaking hands, hugging each other and cooperating with each other. What difference does it make if the PA are a bunch of  murderers in suits? in police uniforms? Who cares if they are wolves in sheep’s clothing and in this play, we have been given the role of  the sheep? The main thing is that the wolf is satisfied for the moment,. Get the camera. He’s holding back just enough for us to be photographed together,  to cooperate with each other.

They entered without any advance coordination”, is what “IDF officials” say, and that’s the claim in Shechem too, that’s what they’ll tell everyone, whoever is connected to this subject – but there’s no coordination at all. As one who is closely familiar with the subject, I know the IDF throws the Joseph-seeking public  a few crumbs, in the form of a degrading visit once a month!

And even these entries are subject to cancellations and changes at the whim of the sector commanders and according to the whims of the Arabs. So don’t confuse yourself with the idea that there is any “coordination” of people’s entry.

According to the illustrious Oslo Accords, which forbade Israelis to enter Area A, Joseph’s Tomb should have been freely open to entry of Israelis! It’s clear that this part of the accords was forgotten by the parties involved, and nobody bothered to uphold it, either.

The main thing is that we did our part – we gave them weapons, freedom of movement, hugs and kisses, expecting adulation for our beautifully proper behavior.

So that’s just it - There is a large portion of the public who aren’t satisfied with Israel's beautiful propriety, who wants more.

I want to believe that most of the Israeli public wants freedom - to stop being threatened, not to be afraid to get on the bus, to stop asking for permission for every trip or to walk around with an armed escort!

Have you ever seen an Arab walk around with an armed escort?

To pray freely in the places holy to us, on the Temple Mount, at Joseph’s Tomb, and in Yitzchak Hall in Me’arat HaMachpela – all of this is ours! But no, by us, we go to sleep with our doors locked, put up little fences around our homes, a pretty fence with a nice gate, and around the community we put up a higher fence, then a separation fence beyond that; the main thing is that we have a little security.

Only THEY have real security – the security of our treacherous Left who don’t let us strike back even once, the security of the Left who make sure to refuse an order that involves some kind of attack, even a justifiable one, on Arabs.

They trust that our Shabak (security service) will make sure to neutralize any attempt by Jews to raise their heads, and trust the police to thoroughly handle any complaint by an Arab. Even more, they trust Shai Nitzan and his team of law enforcers in the territories, and extend their trust in the Confused Defense Forces who don’t know whom they’re supposed to defend – Arabs or Jews? THEY have security. Only WE have to be afraid.

The celebration has to stop, and if the government, army and the police don’t know how to defend the citizens, the citizens must take up defending themselves. This is the natural order of things; the gaps must be filled. If we don’t take care of our own security, nobody else will.

We are also justified in giving it back to them, OK, it’s preferable for the State to do it, for the State to wipe out Shechem, even for starters if it’s just the Arab policemen in Shechem, and we can even settle for a “first course” – only the policemen who fired. But there must be some kind of response, certainly not to justify (the murder), and if not – we have to do it and think about how to react.

Is it right that these aliens walk freely among us, as they fire at our worshippers?

Is it right that they freely travel on the roads?

Is it right to go on refraining from criticizing an army and a police force and other authorities who facilitate our murder? How can we serve in such a  framework? How can a man send his son to serve in a framework that stands by in the murder of his friend?

We have to disconnect from everything, until we can really change things, as long as we have no ability to change things, whether as a result of the weakness of our leaders, rabbis and others (who also themselves, at times prefer to shake hands with those responsible for murder) or whether as a result of our not managing to convince the people of the justice of our cause – the way of freedom, of preference for Jews, of life.

I only ask all the rabbis and public figures who spoke at or attended the funeral, to stop confusing us with empty slogans, to do something, to call for action, to disconnect, to come to Joseph’s Tomb in great numbers and to handle these entries by yourselves. No more empty slogans!

In conclusion, I raise my plea to the Righteous Joseph, and now to the holy Ben Yosef Livnat, to forgive us, his brothers, for selling them to the Ishmaelites!
