Ever since President Obama announced his run for President, there has been endless talk and controversy about what his true religion is. Is he a Muslim or a Christian? Is Christianity the only acceptable faith for an American President? Thus far, this country has only had Christian Presidents-maybe that is why Obama felt it best to conceal his Islamic roots and faith.

Obama himself claims he is a devout Christian, and the mainstream news outlets support that claim, knocking down any suggestion that he is otherwise.  But why is it so implausible to say he is a Muslim? According to Muslim law, Islam is passed down from the father, the same way according to Jewish law Judaism is passed down from the mother.  Obama's father was a
Muslim, so according to Islam that makes him a Muslim too, whether he acknowledges is it or not.  His name is an Islamic name, and for a big part of his childhood he was raised as a Muslim.

Obama has expressed deep support and sympathy toward the Muslim world, and has said that America is one of the biggest Muslim Countries in the universe in an interview with French News Channel Le Figaro (www.lefigaro.fr)

America allows freedom of religion, and it should stay that way-it is one of the most righteous characteristics of our Nation. So it really should not matter of what faith our President is-so long as he is truthful about it and so long as he puts the U.S.A. first, as any American President should.

So the real question is not if Obama is a Muslim or a Christian, but is Obama a good President to our Nation? Does he believe in the American values and principles? The President's faith might affect that- and that is where all the doubt and worry stem from. It is not his religion per se, but what his religion represents and how it is perceived by the world; the Christian faith is accepted around the globe as peaceful and stable - the Muslim faith is the subject of many a controversy, mostly due to the radical Islamists.

The peace-loving Muslims are constantly being overshadowed by the Jihad terrorist groups such as Hamas and Hezbollah, which is why the greater part of Americans believe that Islam is a violent and evil religion. Therefore, having a Muslim President scares those same people, who just happen to be the vast majority of Americans.

I don't know nor care of what religion Obama is, but I do care whether he is being honest about it and how it affects his Presidency. And I believe any patriot will agree with me on that.
