Perhaps you know the tragic story of bus 405 from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem in July 1989?
I was a passenger on that bus. An Islamic Jihad terrorist sitting in the front seat grabbed the steering wheel out of the driver's control and steered the bus over a cliff by the side of the road.
In the fiery crash that followed 16 Jews were killed. I survived by some miracle with relatively minor injuries, including 30 stitches in my head and a hairline fracture in my collar bone.
I was in pain for a month but after that I got back on the horse.
I summed up the experience by saying to myself that a Jew who decides to settle in Israel must be prepared to pay the ultimate price. In that bus attack I nearly paid the ultimate price but G-d gave me a discount.
I tell you this only as an illustration. I never play the terror victim card, and the reason is that I survived this ghastly

But I raise my personal illustration because perhaps it is a factor in my deep burning anger over what U.S. President Obama has done to US policy on Islamic Terror. He has castrated the policy, eviscerated the truth from it. I assume you read that he intends to replace the expression Rogue State with "outlier". Did you know this word was actually coined on the planet Mars?
Professor, I'm 55 and I've followed with some awareness the careers of a number of U.S. presidents, including LBJ, and Nixon, and Reagan, Bush the father, Clinton, and Bush the son. I read somewhere that governments always lie. And I'm positive you could easily just scratch the surface of the careers of the abovementioned gentlemen and find examples of lying.
What Obama is doing to the language of US policy vis a vis Islamic terror is worse by a factor of ten. Did you see

I beg your indulgence and do not wish to go on and write a whole exegesis. I believe there is a firm need at present to organize a protest letter from leading writers and intellectuals condemning what Obama is trying to do. To make every effort in the court of public opinion to force him to apply the truth to murder and injustice where US policy is concerned. To shame him into reversing his tactic of eviscerating and castrating the truth from US policy. I personally have signed such letters in the past, but I do not have the slightest idea how such a thing is started.
I also wish to stress again that it is not my own personal experience as a victim of Islamic terrorism that motivates me. More to the point, what Obama is doing to erase Islam from Islamic terror whitewashes the murders of 1000 Jews here during the second intifada, and that is unforgivable. The 1000 Jews who were murdered here during the second intifada were murdered by Islamic psychotics, while it seems Obama would have us adopt the Martian moniker "outliers" for them, whatever they are?
