You are clearly the world's leading hope in overcoming the terroristic threat that Islam has become. I believe that the future of the world depends on Israel standing firm, just as the English under Churchill stood firm against Hitler's Germany until America finally woke up and joined the battle. The West, including American leaders, seems increasingly self-blinded to the true nature of the threat, dealing with it as if it were the moral equivalent of the West. America, it would seem, has lost its noble moorings.

But land for peace? How can any Israeli even consider such a move?

"The peace process is vital, but it will never work if you engage in the fiction that there is a moral equivalence

between the Palestinian Liberation Organization and the State of Israel. There is not," said New York Mayor Rudolph Giuliani following the murder of captured Israeli soldiers, October 12, 2000.

Surely, Israel must realize one does not weaken oneself to improve one's security. You are surrounded by people who hate you and your land. Can anyone credibly argue with the statement that there is today virtually no native Palestinian under the age of 60 - or for that matter, virtually no native Arab - who hasn't been taught from birth to hate Jews, to hate Israel? At Israel's birth many Arabs were sympathizers, if not active supporters, of Hitler's Nazis. How can any Jew possibly believe that such indoctrinated Arabs can be relied upon to talk, act, think or be trusted according to Western concepts and mores?

For over half a century, Palestinians have lived in "refugee camps". While Israel has turned its little slice of desert into an oasis, into a productive, democratic land of free men and women, the Palestinians have done little to improve their lot. Rather, they have spent this past lifetime hating Israel and working towards its destruction. Their Arab neighbors, supposed allies and friends, have encouraged such hatred while leaving the Palestinians to wallow in their determined misery.

Israel has offered peace for 60 years. Palestinians do not want peace with Jews. They want Jews dead. They are fighting a jihad, a "holy war". Claiming Allah as their leader, they can do no wrong. "God's will" justifies any means. Should Israel acquiesce to Arab demands - and sadly, those of American leaders - Israel will one day, likely in the very near future, again be fighting this implacable enemy. Already entrenched in Israel's heartland, the enemy will be far more well armed, actively supported by Iran and the surrounding Arab states - all of whom intend nothing less than the destruction of all Jews and the State of Israel.

Those brave men and women who founded and first settled the state of Israel would not tolerate such extortion

from such enemies. Have today's Israelis forgotten young Israel's battle cry, "Never again"? With nationhood, with independence, with a homeland, never again would their welfare, independence and future be decided by anyone but themselves. Never again would Jews accept without battle any attempt to subjugate them.

Thank God for the likes of Benjamin Netanyahu. I pray Israel will withstand the pressure of those of your people, as well as those in the West, who have so foolishly forgotten - or perhaps don't care so much for Israel as they do for a less troublesome Middle East; those who would again appease and capitulate to those whose methods are terror and destruction. If they should succeed and the world lose Israel, then the world, I dare say, will likely again pay a horrendous price for such mercenary cowardice.
