Muhammad Naifa, who dispatched the five-victim murderer to Kibbutz Metzer on Sunday, gave himself up to IDF forces today after a siege of a couple of hours around a house in which he found refuge.

Arutz-7's Kobi Finkler reported that Naifa escaped after his home was demolished earlier this week, and that the army was able to narrow down its knowledge of his whereabouts to the village of Shweike, east of Tul Karem. The exact house was ascertained this morning, and large forces surrounded the house with helicopter reinforcements in the air. When the army threatened to demolish the building on top of those inside, Naifa contacted Fatah, which contacted the Israelis and said that the cornered killer was willing to surrender. The IDF responded that he would not be hurt, on condition that he exit the building wearing only his underwear as proof that he had no explosives on his person. He in fact gave himself up, together with two other senior Hamas terrorists, and they were taken to GSS offices for questioning about the Metzer murders and other attacks he was planning.

Naifa, a veteran of the stolen car-parts business, as are many residents of his village, is one of the leaders of the Al-Aksa Brigades. A member of his large and well-known extended family is a nuclear scientist living in the United States.

Sirhan Sirhan, who actually committed the murders in Metzer by firing point-blank at a young mother and her two little boys, as well as at two other people, is still at large. He was reported to be a member of the same family clan as the man with the same name who assassinated Robert F. Kennedy in 1968.

The army razed last night the home of Tarek Samir, 22, who murdered two 14-year old girls - Hadas Turgeman and Linoi Sarousi - as well as Orna Eshel, 53, in Hermesh two weeks ago. Samir also wounded several others, but was finally shot and killed by soldiers.

Prime Minister Sharon arrived at an army position overlooking Shechem and was briefed on anti-terror Operation Wheels of Momentum currently underway in the city. Nearby and at the same time, an Israeli motorist was lightly hurt by rocks thrown at his car in the Shomron between Tapuach and Shechem. Also this afternoon, Arabs hurled grenades at Israeli soldiers near Rafiach; no one was hurt.
