One of the essential keys to negotiating is knowing your Best Alternative To a Negotiated Agreement (BATNA) and negotiating on those terms.

Convince them that terror is not useful and they will give it up.

Israel has not followed this rule since at least the 1970s and is instead merely reacting to Arab aggression. Yasser Arafat, Hassan Nasrallah, Hamas and the Arab Terror Umbrella, on the other hand, have been following their BATNA for years: terror, jihad, murder.

Until we, as a people and as a nation, come up with and use our BATNA in all matters, we will continue losing the political and logistical fight. This is not a matter of ideology, but rather of practicality and survival; of knowing why we are here, what we want to achieve, and most importantly, having enough self-respect to go beyond drawing real red-lines and to launch our own offense.

Not only must we develop and use our own BATNA, but we must convince the Arabs that using their BATNA, terror, is no good for them. If that takes killing terrorists in public, destroying their families' homes, public hangings, deportation or burying them in pig skin, then so be it. Convince them that terror is not useful and they will give it up.

The problem is that the rest of the world has quite convinced them of the opposite. From apologies to silly complaints about puppies on postcards offending Muslim sensibilities in Scotland, to California classrooms where children are immersed in Islam for two weeks a year, to outright riots and murder in Paris, France - world governments are kowtowing to Islamic terror.

Israel must remain steadfast and be a light unto the nations on this issue. When Israel refused to cooperate with the United Nations investigation into the fabricated slaughter in Jenin, she showed brevity and logic. The world can not hang the Jewish people unless we hand them the noose.

They need our cooperation in order to vilify us. Don't cooperate and they won't succeed.

Our Best Alternative to a Negotiated Agreement? Well, it would look something like the following.

Immediately following every subsequent Kassam attack on Sderot (or any other town in Israel):

  • Raid all Palestinian Authority accounts and accounts of all PA residents to pay outstanding PA bills to Bezeq and the Israel Electrical Company.
  • Disconnect all Internet, Bezeq and mobile phone services to Arabs in Judea, Samaria and Gaza.
  • Disconnect all Electrical services and shut all water lines in Judea, Samaria and Gaza.
  • No transportation in or out of Gaza until the Hamas government apprehends Kassam rocket shooters and every Kassam in Gaza, and hands them over to IDF.
  • Bury bombers in pig skin on live TV.
  • Force a Hamas surrender; send the group's leaders and their extended families to return to the home of their forefathers in Egypt or Iraq.
  • The Israeli government tells Arab leaders, "Open your borders for a mass exodus of all Arabs from Judea, Samaria and Gaza." No exceptions made for the sick, young or elderly.
  • Israel annexes Judea, Samaria and Gaza, and allows free Jewish settlement in all of Israel.
  • Israel appeals to the UN for the remaining 82% of the Palestine Mandate (i.e., Jordan).
