should), and couldn't help thinking that, unfortunately, the radicalization of Islam creates a virtually unstoppable counterforce to such an initiative.
Jordan's so-called monarchy is as much a Western puppet as is Israel's corrupt government. It seems to me that how long Abdullah and his very modern wife will keep their "Reform Islam" heads before the Muslim Brotherhood and Hamas remove them is the only question. With Iraq on its eastern border, Jordan will be reduced to a battleground when the Saudis and Al-Qaeda deem it the appropriate time to go west. So, in my opinion, this plan is yet another hookah-dream.
Maybe if we had proposed it before the Oslo Accords, before Yasser Arafat got the Nobel Peace Prize to help whitewash his terrorist deeds and create the leader of the de facto Palestinian state. Maybe before Yitzchal Rabin's assassination, which the Left used to launch a war of attrition against its own finest, most self-sacrificing citizens. Maybe when we all sort of believed that Zionism was the modern Jewish ideological glue that joined all stripes of Jews together. Maybe when (and halavai, if) we had Shalom Bayit (peace at home) and just enough Ahavat Yisrael (brotherly love) to care about each other's physical and spiritual welfare (Shlomo, we need you!).
Maybe when Never Again meant "never again."
But now, we've shown the Western world our stupid belief that they still really give a hoot about the Holocaust, and our thinking that America will always defend us because we're like them. And we have made ourselves too reasonable and empathetic with an enemy that has stolen from us the banners and slogans of our own commercialized victimhood. How gleefully they wave them right back in our faces. We taught them well. They've made a lot of friends in low palaces.
Today, the Islamic wolf smells our blood, and sees that the Israeli sheep have lazy, irresponsible shepherds, who don't even wield the weapons they themselves developed without meekly asking their overlords for permission to protect their flocks (and who would like to build a Club Med in Gush Katif). As it stands, the government of Israel is setting the country up for a war of last resort (we have "secret" weapons), which will certainly come, if it continues to think that doing anything more than selling Bamba and Marlboro Lights to the Arabs will bring about "peace."

Rabbi Meir Kahane was right when he said we should simply expel the subversive "Israeli" Arabs from our midst. Buy them homes in Dearborn. It'll be a cheaper solution.
Here's a roadmap of useful things I think we need to continue doing:
1. Tell this Pope to lay off of King David's Tomb. I used to play there.
2. Don't allow any thoughts of Ehud Olmert dividing Jerusalem to spoil your day. It ain't gonna happen.
3. Let's build the real Jewish State in all of Eretz Yisrael.
4. Continue to fill our shuls with Jews who pray for the emergence of leaders who won't compromise the Jewish People's welfare, even with the best of intentions.
