Aryeh Arnaldo Agronyoni, 44 years old and a father of 3, was murdered last night by Palestinian terrorists. A resident of Ma\'aleh Yisrael, near Ariel, Agronyoni immigrated from South America and was on volunteer guard duty in one of the distant outposts near Itamar. The Arabs shot and stabbed him to death, took his weapon, and escaped to one of the nearby villages. Hundreds of mourners participated in his funeral procession this afternoon, which passed through Itamar to the regional cemetery in Yitzhar.
About ten kilometers to the southwest, dozens of residents of Tapuach and nearby Jewish towns staged a raucous protest this morning against both the \"deteriorating security situation in the region\" and the recent arrests of four residents of the West Tapuach farm. They used force to block the Tapuach Junction to Arab traffic; security forces were on hand to restore order. \"It\'s bad enough that the army refuses to take the necessary steps to smash Arab terror,\" said David Ha\'Ivri of Kfar Tapuach. \"But when they arrest good people who are defending the hilltops, this only signals more Jewish disunity and weakness. The Arabs feel that they can get away with murder - and they are absolutely right.\"
In other attacks today and last night: Palestinian terrorists opened fire this afternoon at the gate of Psagot, north of Jerusalem... Earlier, a grenade was hurled at soldiers in southern Gaza near the Rafiach Crossing to Egypt; in both cases, no injuries were reported and soldiers returned fire... A mortar shell was launched from a PA area towards the Jewish community of Morag this morning. It fell harmlessly not far from an IDF force... A firebomb was hurled last night at Israeli police near Lion\'s Gate in Jerusalem\'s Old City. No one was hurt... Arabs fired at the Hevron Jewish community last night, including at the protest site in Gross Square; no one was hurt, and soldiers returned fire...
