We in Israel are headed down the road to self-destruction. Two seemingly insignificant items in the local press this past week have particularly disturbed me.
Israel has for the first time recently selected an Arab to be a minister in our government. I have now read that this particular minister refuses to sing our national anthem, HaTikvah. He says that he cannot identify with it. Of course he can't identify with it, he's an Arab, not a Jew. This is exactly why he should not be a minister in the government of the Jewish State in the first place.
Why does not every one see this simple truth? The answer is the constant brainwashing going on in the media, the courts, the government - in short, amongst all the powers that be in this country. All of the so-called intelligentsia and power brokers in the state are, in fact, extreme left-wingers, apologizing for the existence of our state. This cuts across party lines. This, unfortunately, is as true for Likud as it is for Labor and Kadima. Even many of the so-called religious have been brainwashed to the point that they agree that the Jewish State may be sacrificed at the altar of democracy. I could be indicted, and probably convicted, for incitement to racism for having the temerity to say the above self-evident and undeniable truths.
The second item takes place in Beit Berl, a small teacher's college just outside of Kfar Saba. Beit Berl is a veteran Labor stronghold. It seems that members of the Arab student body at Beit Berl - who have become a majority and who, of course, are all citizens of the state - are handing out leaflets to the Jewish student body concerning "the Disaster." This, of course, refers to the founding of the Jewish State and the "disaster" that this caused to these very same students who can choose to study what they want and where they want, and who may one day become a minister of the Jewish State (perhaps, even
You, who have not been brainwashed, can make Aliyah.
the Prime Minister). None of these students run the risk of being indicted for incitement to racism; after all, in a democracy one has freedom of speech. Of course, that depends upon who that person is and what he has to say.

Of course, that depends upon who that person is and what he has to say.Our policies vis-a-vis the Arab fifth column among us cannot be explained logically. I put it down to our never having outgrown being "stiff-necked." To me, stiff-necked is much more then being stubborn or insane. It is closer to being inexplicably evil, to our own detriment. Being stiff-necked allows a people to see ten plagues and the splitting of a sea and yet to still make a Golden Calf. Being stiff-necked allows our leaders and judges to witness the crematoria and yet to endanger our continued existence in the name of democracy.
What, then, can you do? You, who have not been brainwashed, can make Aliyahen masse, like a tsunami. Your great numbers will sweep away our stiff-necked leaders.
Much more importantly, your making Aliyah en masse will please G-d very much. I believe that, as a result of an act of such selfless love for G-d, He will finally send us a leader like Moses, to lead us out of the wilderness our leadership has brought us into.
