There's a saying, "Tell a lie long enough and people will believe it as the truth." This pretty much sums up the so-called Palestinian relationship towards Israel. In essence, it's been one lie after another. Each land-for-peace deal was supposed to bring a cessation of attacks against Israel, but every one of these one-sided deals has been broken time and again by the Arabs. This includes the infamous Oslo Accords, the return of Gaza, the ceasefire agreements in the latest war in Lebanon, and all the ones in between.

It's rather difficult to expect the Palestinians to be partners in peace when they still don't accept Israel's right to even exist; not the greatest neighbors to have living right next door. But this hasn't stopped the Israeli government from blindly pursuing the suicidal policy of appe

asement. Like the proverbial ostrich, hiding its head in the sand won't get rid of the lion running in hot pursuit. You just can't see it when it finally comes in for the kill.

But the problem with the so-called Palestinians is that there is no such thing as "Palestine," and therefore, by default, no such thing as "Palestinians." It's been a political lie from the get-go. One almost feels terribly sorry for them, since they've been used as a political ping-pong ball by all the other Arab countries.

Critical to that central lie is the notion that there is no deeply rooted connection between the land of Israel and the Jewish people. It's a modern phenomenon, the Arab countries argue. There's no such thing as the Biblical claims, which rub them the wrong way big time, since it speaks of a Jewish presence in the Holy Land since the times of Abraham. No, they blindly and endlessly banter, Israel is a creation of 1948, courtesy of the United Nations. And this solution to the "Jewish problem" was something unfairly imposed upon the Muslims.

To this day, one hears echoes from across the Arab world to create the Jewish state in Europe. After all, it was in Europe that the recent Holocaust happened. Why should the Arab states in the Middle East have to "bear the burden"?

Never mind the fact that the tiny state back in 1948 asked for peace and didn't start the war. Never mind the fact that they didn't start the war in 1956, or the Six-Day War in ‘67, or the Yom Kippur War in '73, or the war in Lebanon in '82, and even the most recent war in Lebanon in 2006. Israel won each of these conflicts, thank God, and, for the sake of peace, stopped fighting, withdrew, gave back chunks of newly acquired territory, signed new deals and made new promises. But the other side broke these promises even before the ink dried on the paper.

Bob Dylan's song "Neighborhood Bully" rings mighty loud and clear: "No contract he [Israel] signed was worth what it was written on," since the Arabs never intended to keep their side of the deal. Unlike the Israeli governments throughout recent history, Dylan has the ability to see things clearly, without the dark, foggy glasses of politicians. Bottom line here, folks: the Arabs still don't accept Israel and thus are not peace partners.

In order to keep this lie of Palestine and the Palestinians alive and well in our age of entertainment and instant gratification, a rather large can of worms has been opened. Or maybe we should say "unearthed." This has to do with excavations in the Holy Land and, more specifically, all the ancient Jewish artifacts that are slowly emerging into our modern atmosphere. This is one huge needle in the side of every believing (brainwashed) Muslim who's been fed a steady diet of "there is no historic Jewish presence in the Middle East" (and "Jews are pigs" and "Christians are animals").

So, what's to be done with all the goodies underground waiting to see the light of day? The Arabs have two choices here. First, keep 'em in the dark (as they do their own people); in other words, stop all the archaeological activities. Second, those that somehow do surface through digging, construction, building, whatever, should simply be removed and destroyed before someone actually finds out. Truth hurts sometimes. All of the lovely pots and parchments and handles and gravesites and ritual baths and cups with ancient Hebraic inscriptions are like pin-pricks in the inflated balloon of this Great Muslim Lie.

And what about "historical significance"? You know, like simply showing respect for those who came before us and what their culture was like. The militant Muslims have shown their respect for history by getting rid of artifacts that they view as anti-Islam. Most folks have long forgotten the ancient Buddhas of Bamiyan, which was deemed an official UNESCO Historic Site. A lot of good it did for those amazing works, carved into the sand cliffs in central Afghanistan. The two huge Buddhas once towered over 180 feet tall and survived more than 1,600 years, until they had the unfortunate experience of meeting the modern day "enlightened" and "religious" Taliban in 2001. Hello, Taliban. Adios, Buddhas.

Too bad the Taliban wouldn't listen to reason. Too bad the UN, UNESCO, and the world didn't back up their words with some muscle. The world did absolutely nothing as these two ancient statues of great historic and cultural value were blown into dust. Gone forever. The same politically-correct, bend-over-backwards world would also do nothing as Iran develops and, God forbid, uses the A-bomb.

Appeasement does nothing except strengthen the hand of the fanatic and very intolerant Muslims. We saw the very same process happen when, contrary to the written agreements, as soon as the Israelis turned Gaza over to the Palestinian Authority, the synagogues were ransacked and burned to the ground. The same destruction against Christian churches by militant Muslims continues to this very day.

This complete lack of tolerance is in full view and glory in present-day, so-called Palestine. It has crept in under the Mughrabi Gate in the Old City of Jerusalem. What scares the Muslims has nothing to do with their supposed interest and concern about protecting their sacred sites. Their real concern runs deeper. They're afraid, of course, that any digging in this incredibly historic area will unearth even more treasure that illustrates the deep connection between the Land of Israel and the Jewish People. And thus, they resort to what militant Islam resorts to all the time - violence or the threat of violence.

Singing John Mayer's recent Grammy-nominated hit "Waiting on the World to Change" won't offer any solutions for the Middle East. We simply can't afford the luxury of waiting anymore. A far better tune to sing is one of actively changing the world for the better. Even if, for the time being, the truth hurts. The only way to stop violence and terrorism is to stop it cold in its tracks, with muscle power, if need be. Keep digging Israel - and uncover the real truth for the entire world to see.
