The Iraqi Parliament decided unanimously today to reject the UN Security Council resolution requiring it to open its doors to international inspection. The decision states, however, that Saddam Hussein is empowered to make his own final pronouncement on the matter. Iraq expert Dr. Ofrah Banjo of the Moshe Dayan Center for Middle Eastern and African Studies in Tel Aviv University said today that it could be that Hussein will override the decision, and that today's vote was a trick by Hussein to show his people that he is the one who is preventing war.



A mini-terror campaign against American targets in Lebanon intensified this morning, when three bombs exploded near American restaurants in the country. No one was hurt. In addition to at least two previous bombings in the past months, a campaign to boycott American products is underway in Lebanon.
