Sharon expels Jews for the sake of peace and much of the world applauds. Quite an achievement in setting a new and dangerous post-National Socialist precedent that can be applied anywhere to minority peoples. No question or doubt that it will applied to Jews somewhere else again, as in the past (think Spain, England, Germany, Poland, Lithuania, France, the list goes on and on). Jews have now been expelled from all Arab lands. Soon, the same demand will be made in....
Why would a nation proclaim that its principal enemy has any right to anything? Why would a nation, in the face of repeated failure by this enemy to do even the slightest thing expected of a civilized people, give up land to that enemy?
Let's get something straight, right here, right now. No one except Ariel Sharon - a.k.a. The Bulldozer - really knows why he did it. Perhaps one day we'll know, but certainly not now. He has not spoken of the real reasons why he did what he did.
That said, it is clear to any thinking and rational person that peace had nothing to do with it, however flimsy his claims to that as the root of the action.
On what conceivable basis does this lead to peace? Clearly, the Palestinians do not consider it a peaceful gesture.
Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas has adopted the argument that Israel is continuing to occupy Palestinian lands in the northern and eastern Gaza Strip; in other words, that is the official Palestinian position, despite Israel's physical absence from the area. This is hardly acceptance of a peaceful gesture.
Farouk Qaddumi, the Tunis-based leader of the PLO, said, "Israel must be destroyed."
Mahmoud Zahar, Hamas' leader in Gaza, said, "[A]fter the victory in the Gaza Strip, we will transfer the struggle first to the West Bank and later to Jerusalem."
Islamic Jihad, Fatah, PFLP, PFLP-GC, DFLP, Tanzim, Force 17, Ahmed Abu Reish Brigade, Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigade and Hizbullah have mouthed similar tributes to Israel's gesture; not one saying that peace will be forthcoming now or ever.
Peace between two warring parties can only occur when both sit down at the table and sign a mutually agreeable, written agreement that recognizes the rights and obligations of both in an atmosphere of mutual respect, and from which they act in a civilized manner toward one another. Let's look at that concept for a moment. Israel and Egypt have a peace agreement. However, it is a worthless piece of paper, with Egypt spending billions in preparation for its next war against Israel, refusing to stop the smuggling of weapons into Gaza and so on. Israel and Jordan have such an agreement, but it, too, is of little value. Even Israel and the PLO have such an agreement signed by their respective Nobel Peace Prize "losers", but it is fatally flawed in every way, shape and form.
Face facts: When Muslims sign such agreements, even between themselves, the agreement is inherently flawed. Their prophet said of such matters that anything can be signed, then disregarded when it does not meet the requirements of Islam and Muslims. In other words, it's just so many words on paper, without any intent to abide by its wording, when dealing with infidels. The Master Terrorist, a.k.a. Yasser Arafat, said so.
Does no one in Washington, Paris, London, Moscow, Brussels, Strasbourg or Turtle Bay understand that peace cannot happen when one party takes a public stance like this?
Apparently, Jews can be pressured by outside governments and supposed allies, forced to concede on matters of sovereignty, penalized by world bodies by resolutions and rulings in violation of international law, challenged by non-governmental and religious organizations beyond the charters of such entities for reasons of politics and held to standards that no one else on the planet is. Ah, lest we forget, they're only Jews and no one really cares about Jews (tell me something we don't know).
Obviously, Arab Muslims are not to be pressured, not forced to concede anything and not penalized for failing time and again to meet any obligations. Instead, they are paid vast sums of money without accountability, permitted to incite their streets against the US (The Great Satan) and Israel (The Little Satan), allowed to teach children hatred of things Western and Jewish, tolerated to incite from the pulpit on a scale not seen before anywhere, armed and enabled to continue their violence against their enemies (far and close). Heaven forbid anyone should criticize such appeasement. It might mean a cut in a nation's oil quota. Ethics, morals, values and principles be damned when oil is at stake.
Now to the solution.
Either the Palestinian Arabs accept Israel's existence, her right to sovereignty and stop all incitement, threats and attacks, or (among other possibilities):
1. Every time a Jewish holy site is destroyed or damaged, Israel will attack and destroy a Muslim mosque, the first two targets will be the two main mosques in Jerusalem.
2. Every time a Jewish grave site is destroyed, Israel will disinter an Arab Muslim's body, mix it with pig fat and dispose of the remains in an unknown location. The first target will be Arafat (may he burn in hell forever).
3. Every time a procession of any kind is carried out in PLO territory by masked, gun-toting terrorists and their supporters, the IDF will deliver napalm fireworks onto the marchers to help celebrate the event.
4. Every time a bullet, shell, bomb or rocket is fired in or toward Israel by terrorists, Israel will return fire by rounds into which pig fat has been placed.
5. Every time a terrorist is killed within Israel by police, IDF or others, pig fat will be added to the terrorist's remains, which will be disposed off in unknown locations.
6. Every time a mortar or artillery shell hits Israel, Israel will fire back 10 like items; 100 if an Israeli is killed by the shells; 1,000 if an Israeli family is killed.
7. Every time a suicide bomber goes off in Israel, Israel will deport 1,000 Arab families from her lands.
8. Every time the PLO/PA shows incitement of any kind on its radio, TV or newspapers, Israel will document the episode, advise the UN and deny 1,000 Palestinian Arabs of the right to work in Israel.
9. Every time the PLO/PA names something, anything (a street, camp, school or town) after a terrorist murderer, Israel will construct a new control point to prevent Arab incursion into Israel.
10. Every time an official PLO vehicle is used for terrorist purposes, Israel will ban all PLO official vehicles from entry into Israel for any reason for 120 days.
11. Every time a PLO official, including its clerics, incites the Arab street by defaming Israel, calling for her destruction or expressing any kind of threat to Israel or Jews, Israel will prohibit any travel outside of PLO areas by that official for one year.
I could go on and on and on, but you grasp the point. Israel must say to her Arab neighbors, "Put up or shut up." Either make peace with us here and now, or accept the consequences for your refusal and your state terrorism. Either way, the choice is yours. You can accept the reality that Israel wants peace, Israelis want to be safe in their streets and you will not be attacked in your own lands, or you can reap what you sow. Think for a change and accept what you cannot change, before it is too late for you, your families and countries.
