There is a time when even a dictatorship must stop ignoring the public. There is a time when even the enlisted media must stop and take stock of their part in the lies and deceptions that they are continuing to print, vocalize and broadcast.

One would assume that here in our beloved Israel, those who attempt to ignore and threaten the public, to distort the truth, and out and out lie about what the real situation is and what the facts on the ground are - they would understand that the spirit of our people is stronger than any or all of the above mentioned.

Historically, when attempts were made to destroy us physically and spiritually, we only became more defiant and determined to overcome those who would stifle our nation.

Whether during the time of the Romans, the Greeks, Turks, the British and even under the oppressive mantle of a Jewish government, we overcame.

We shall overcome again today. Despite the calculated, combined efforts of a corrupt regime, the continued attempt to blacken our names - the names of Jewish men, women and children who are fulfilling the most important commandment, to inherit the Land - we shall overcome.

The tens of thousands of Israelis who were with us during the week of Pesach, who marched in solidarity with four generations of Jews in Katif and the Shomron, will overcome the lies and dangerous defeatist plans to destroy the communities of Katif and Samaria.

Tens of thousands of mothers, fathers, grandparents and children who marched without breaking stride while missiles of death landed mere meters from us, heads held high with emunah (faith) in our mission and in our G-d, will overcome both the missiles that our enemies send and the hatred that is spread by the media in our country.

Instead of congratulating the staunch, unbreakable spirit of our people, the media continues to seek out those from among us whom they label as dangerous extremists, or those few families who have broken under the unremitting pressures of the situation and wish to find quiet elsewhere.

Growing up in Israel, we have always encountered those Israelis who could not take it here, and moved away to the Diaspora. For either "economic" reasons, or searching for "security", these unfortunate souls can never actually totally disconnect themselves from us here or from our situation.

But for those of us who live here in our Land, who grew up knowing who we are and wanting to contribute our all, and who have therefore moved out to the Jewish communities of Judea, Samaria and Gaza, nothing is impossible. Nothing will break our emunah and our fortitude.

I say to both the prime minister and his bought government, to the media and to all of the rabble, the erev rav amongst us: Don't write us off yet. Don't be certain that this is a done deal.

Remember, we just commemorated Pesach, when we, the people of Israel, were chased by the formidable Egyptian army and stood with danger at our backs and the sea in front of us. Nachshon jumped in and we were saved by G-d.

Don't take for granted that we are defeated, because the spirit of our people is unbeatable. We have risen from the ashes of the Holocaust and survived every impossible situation, against all odds. We believe that together we shall overcome the disastrous, dangerous plans of this government, too, and we shall continue to live in Katif and in Judea and Samaria. We shall continue to represent the best of what it is to be Jewish, the spirit of our people and our connection to - not disconnection from - our Torah and our Land.
