Hevron activist and father of eight, Baruch Marzel, who was forcibly arrested by police last week on charges of rioting during the evacuation of the Gilad Farm, has been banned for six months from returning to his home in Hevron. A Jerusalem Magistrate's Court presented its ruling against Marzel on Friday. In addition, Marzel says in a Hevron press release that he was forced to sign, "an illegal and undemocratic document by the police and the court, forbidding me to appeal the court's decision, exiling me from my family, home and work in Hevron."

The court also accused Marzel of attacking officers when he was arrested last Thursday. During the hearing Marzel denied striking an officer during his arrest. When the judge asked Marzel why he refused to immediately agree to interrogation, he told her that police did not have a warrant for his arrest and it was illegal for them to take him into questioning. In response to the ruling the community of Hevron has established a special a special 'va"ad peula' (committee) to fight the court's decision.
