In times of war, American Homeland Defense must start by giving immediate attention to our allies: helping Israel, enforcing a free Lebanon, along with a free Syria. Keeping Israel as an undervalued player, under constant US pressure to carry out forced withdrawals, in a dangerous neighborhood of terrorists, will undermine the US strategy and defeat America in the Middle East.
Israel should also strike the nuclear reactors in Iran, and annihilate Hizbullah and Hamas. Those missiles in southern Lebanon and the Beka'a Valley are not for "peaceful" purposes; they are prepared, in conjunction with the Iranian nuclear bomb, for a surge of terror to bring about the end of the State of Israel.
While wasting negotiating with Washington, Iran and Syria are reinforcing their underground agents and preparing for a massive Islamic outbreak. From Baghdad to Jerusalem, the price in blood will be soaring and the extent of terror and damage will intensify.
America will not win with the joint US-Syrian patrols on the Iraqi border. America will be deceived and defeated.
The problem is not in Baghdad, neither is it in the Gaza withdrawal; it is in Washington, whose leaders should stop partisan politics and fight terror at its roots.
After 1,000 US casualties in Iraq, we ask the Administration to reverse the Gaza withdrawal, which will increase terrorism. Such a withdrawal in these times will be translated as weakness and followed by more chaos, such as was the case with the Ehud Barak debacle in fleeing southern Lebanon.
Today is the time to advance and defeat those terror organizations, not to retreat.
Washington should not save the failing Syrian regime; instead, hold it accountable and bring it to justice. Bring the Syrian leaders to an international court, to be held accountable for crimes against humanity in Lebanon where, in 25 years of occupation, thousands of Lebanese have perished and disappeared. Hold them accountable for all the instability in Iraq and those innocent civilians dying everyday by car bombs in the streets of Baghdad. Do it for the sake of these innocents, and all Americans and Westerners kidnapped and killed in cold blood by the insurgents manipulated by the Syrian regime, which is working daily to see the US defeated in Iraq.
Syria is playing a very criminal role in the Middle East. Hold it accountable.
Give her Excellency Carla Del Ponte a better case to manage for the safety of the Free World. This judge in The Hague, now busy trying a national Serb hero, Slobodan Milosevic, should instead bring the band of criminals in Damascus before her hammer for "international justice".
The irony of making Milosevic the bad guy should stop. He was on the right side of history, for Islam was not doing any better in Yugoslavia than it is in the Middle East. Milosevic became the political scapegoat of the West, betrayed by the double standards of a Europe that didn't have the guts to stand up and stop Al-Qaeda "progression" towards Europe, supported by the pro-Saudi policies of former President Clinton and Secretary of State Madeleine Albright.
Our Lebanese government-in-exile, from Jerusalem, asks Washington today to give us the political and logistic means to reach Beirut and change the tide of terrorism in the Middle East forever.
We can make it happen.
A free Lebanon will be the best investment Washington could make for the sake of a safer Iraq, a different Syria and a new dynamic that would stabilize the Middle East and reinforce the security of the United States.
