The UN Security Council is expected to approve a carefully-worded resolution regarding Iraq today. The vote will give Saddam Hussein seven days to comply with all pertinent UN resolutions, and to allow weapons inspectors unhindered access to every corner of Iraq. The resolution grants the inspectors "immediate, unimpeded, unconditional and unrestricted access" to Iraq's so-called presidential sites - as opposed to previous agreements that required inspectors to provide notice before inspections and to work under diplomatic escort. The U.S. says that if these conditions are not fulfilled, it need not obtain UN permission to strike Iraq.

A senior IDF officer told Israel Radio today that Israel is well-prepared for an Iraqi attack, though Iraq has dozens of El Hussein missiles, including some equipped with biological warheads. He said that Israel would have advance warning of no more than five or six minutes before an Iraqi missile attack.
