Readers' comments at the end of articles always make me laugh.

I see so many people barking orders at Israel to "kill more", "keep fighting", "fight harder", "civil war!", etc.

People who do not live in Israel (including myself; however, I am moving there) should not talk so loud. It is not you on the front lines fighting for the state; it is Israelis who are risking their lives. The people who seem to talk the loudest live in their beautiful homes in Los Angeles, New York and Toronto. Jews in Israel are living day-by-day, hour-by-hour. Many of them are not very rich. Although it is very easy for them to leave and come to America and move into a nice home in New York, LA or in Canada, they don't. They continue fighting for the state.

Personally, I believe that unless you are willing to join the ranks of Israelis, you really shouldn't make comments about how Israel fights it battles. It is not your 18-year-old son going to the Gaza Strip to fight; it is someone else's. So it is easy for you to say, "Fight harder!" I hear so much jabbering from Diaspora Jews, telling Israelis what to do and how to do it.

If you really would like to do something, move to Israel and make the difference. If you are pro-transfer, go to Israel so you can be another vote for a pro-transfer party. If you really feel Israel should fight harder, send your children off to Israel to fight. Until then, don't talk so loud.

Many people don't have the guts to fight for Israel on the front lines, so they resort to sending their messages into "readers' comments." However, writing something tagged onto an editorial will not bring us any closer to solving Israel's problems. I agree that many Jews outside of Israel have the right ideas; however, if you are not in Israel, you cannot act on them.

I am making aliyah; this summer, I will begin my service in the Israeli army. I will go there and I will fight for what I believe in. Although I could stay here in Brooklyn and live lavishly, I would rather protect Israel. Israel comes first.

Don't think you can fight Israel's wars through the editorial page, because you cannot. Instead, pack your bags, brush up on your Hebrew and go.

Before you write about "civil wars", "harder fighting", and what Israel should do, think. You can't make a difference writing a comment. The Israeli government will not change its policies because some American writes to a periodical and tells them to. The only way Israel will change its policies is if there are Zionists moving to Israel, voting for change and fighting on the front lines.

I quote the first President of the United States, George Washington: "Actions, not words, are the true criterion...."
